Así que estos minutos que los trabajadores pasan en Facebook, en lugar de costar dinero a la compañía, podrían estarle ahorrando el tiempo que normalmente tardarían en salir a descansar. Además esos pequeños descansos pueden ser aprovechados para hacer compras y pagos en línea pendientes que ya no estarán dando vuelta en la mente de los trabajadores y podrán enfocarse más en su trabajo.

Journalist Laura Vanderkam says if employees weren’t checking their social network profiles they would be out smoking, spend more time at lunch or find any errand to run in their car. Everyone needs to clear their mind at some point of the working day, and browsing the web to forget about it all for a while may release tension and increase productivity.

So those minutes spent in Facebook by employees are saving time for their company. Time that could be spent in breaks outside their workstation. Those breaks on the web can also be used to shop and make online payments that will no longer be on the workers’ minds, allowing them to really put their mind into what they are doing.
