5 relojes inteligentes que debes conocer

¿Alguien dijo teléfonos inteligentes ? Por favor, eso es ya del pasado. Ahora todos los reflectores apuntan hacia la siguiente estrella: los relojes inteligentes.

En su momento tener un reloj digital integrado con calculadora era un gran avance tecnológico. El avance de esta generación implica tener un reloj que además de dar la hora, también permita hacer llamadas telefónicas.

Es importante mencionar que no es un proyecto reciente, los creadores de los relojes inteligentes han estado trabajando en ellos desde hace años. Entonces, ¿por qué están teniendo su momento apenas ahora? Porque grandes empresas como Samsung y Apple, escucharon acerca de los proyectos que pequeñas empresas estaban desarrollando en esta área y no se podían quedar atrás. Finalmente, en la primera semana de septiembre de 2013, una de las noticias tecnológicas más sonadas (otra fue el lanzamiento del iPhone 5s  y 5c), fue la presentación del reloj inteligente de Samsung: el Galaxy Gear, que saldrá al mercado a finales de septiembre con un precio inicial de 300 dólares.

Conocido como el antecesor de los relojes inteligentes (aunque hay empresas que le quieren quitar el título). Este fue el primer reloj que englobaba un hardware y software de calidad. Gracias a ello, el Pebble Smart Watch da la opción de conectarte a tu iPhone o Android mediante Bluetooth y así contestar tus llamadas o mensajes de texto.

Los creadores de este reloj no se quedaron conformes con el sólo hecho de crear una reloj inteligente, le dieron seguimiento creando su propio cargador. Este reloj inteligente es mucho más avanzado que el Pebble Smart Watch. El Omate True Smart es un teléfono con el diseño físico de un reloj, pantalla táctil y todas tus aplicaciones, como Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. Es importante mencionar que los creadores de este reloj crearon un convenio con Google y también puedes gozar de todos sus servicios como: Gmail, Google Music, Google Maps, etc.

Qualcomm Toq 

Qualcomm no se quiso quedar atrás y también presentó su reloj inteligente, delimitando su mercado a Estados Unidos con un producto exclusivo de edición limitada.
Este reloj también se conecta al smartphone para contestar llamadas, con una mayor calidad en su pantalla. Este reloj usa tecnología de tinta electrónica de colores llamada Marisol que te permite ver la pantalla claramente a la luz del día y en la noche.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 

Volvemos al reloj inteligente que es la novedad de Samsung. Este dispositivo ofrecerá una gran gama de aplicaciones que podrás utilizar como si fuera uno de los teléfonos de la empresa surcoreana. Una de sus características principales: la correa del reloj está llena de tecnología ya que está integrada por la cámara y el micrófono.

Pequeños detalles como el hecho de que puedes colgar una llamada con sólo poner tu mano sobre la pantalla de tu reloj o que la batería dura un día entero, vuelven más atractivo a este smartwatch. Samsung cree tanto en su producto y el éxito que tendrá que ya comenzaron a trabajar en el Galaxy Gear 2.

Con tantas empresas grandes y pequeñas, conocidas y nuevas, compitiendo por ofrecer el mejor reloj inteligente, ¿qué le deparará a esta industria? ¿Será el siguiente gadget indispensable o se convertirá en otra tecnología cíclica como el cine 3D? La aparente ausencia de Apple, ¿será un indicador?

El papel que juegan las IPs en la seguridad web

Recientemente hablamos de los virus que pueden afectar a una Mac. Hoy hablaremos sobre una forma de evitar amenazas que pueden afectar a cualquier tipo de sistema operativo (lo decimos por experiencia propia): bloquear direcciones IP.

¿Qué son las direcciones IP?

Así como una persona tiene un domicilio para su hogar y otro para su oficina, cada dispositivo conectado a una red de Internet tiene su propia dirección de IP (Internet Protocol) o Protocolo de Internet.

Todas las IPs (como se les conoce coloquialmente) están formadas por una serie única e irrepetible de números.

Muchos hackers hacen que al visitar una dirección IP (por ejemplo, un sitio web), automáticamente se descargue a tu computadora un plug-in que obtiene acceso a toda tu información, incluyendo tu dirección IP. Tal como si se tratara de un ataque zombie, tu dispositivo queda infectado y, por lo tanto, la dirección IP se une al arsenal de IPs del cibercriminal. Esta acción es repetida con miles de sitios web, creando un gran repertorio de direcciones IP desde dónde atacar a nuevas víctimas.

¿Cómo sucede el ataque? Todo servidor tiene un nombre de usuario y una contraseña de acceso. Aquí  es donde muchas personas cometen el error más grande, dejando como el nombre del usuario “Admin”  y contraseñas débiles como 111111111 o admin1234. Esto hace que tu equipo se vuelva en Disneyland para los hackers.

WordPress es la plataforma más atacada por hackers porque es la más popular para manejar sitios web  y blogs. Nosotros mismos usamos WordPress, pero sabemos que podemos dormir tranquilos mientras no nuestra contraseña no sea el lugar y año en que nos graduamos de primaria.

¿Qué hacer?

Hay listas negras de IPs que han ‘fichado’ como maliciosas. En este caso, se les bloquea el acceso para evitar futuros intentos para ingresar a la nuestra. Por ejemplo, el equipo de soporte técnico nos hizo llegar recientemente una lista de más de 200 direcciones que son IP non grata.

What are IP addresses?

Just as a person has an address for their home and one for their office, each device connected to a network on the Internet has its own IP address (Internet Protocol) or Internet Protocol.

Many hackers do that by visiting an IP address (eg, a website), it will automatically download to your computer a plug-in to get access to all your information, including your IP address. As if it were a zombie attack, your device is infected and, therefore, the IP address joins the arsenal of IPs of cybercrime. This action is repeated with thousands of websites, creating a large repertoire of IP addresses from where to attack new victims.

How the attack happens? Every server has a user name and password. This is where many people make the biggest mistake, leaving the user name «Admin» and weak passwords like 111111111 or admin1234 . This causes your computer to become Disneyland for hackers.

Correcta redacción: indispensable en correos electrónicos de negocios

Con los diferentes avances tecnológicos que se han tenido en los últimos años, hasta las formas de comunicación más esenciales se han hecho obsoletas. En la actualidad uno de los medios de comunicación más utilizados, son los mensajes a tráves de correo electrónico.

Alrededor del mundo, diferentes empresas se envían correos electrónicos constantemente para mantener viva la relación empresarial o para comenzar dicha relación ( Aquí en Ecolohosting, no somos la excepción).  Pero actualmente hasta nosotros estamos teniendo problemas con este medio de comunicación y todo se debe a la incorrecta redacción ya sea de su título o del contenido.

Es por eso que a continuación se presentarán diferentes consejos que todo empresario debe seguir para la correcta redacción de un correo electrónico, incluyéndonos a nosotros:

1.    Antes de redactar el correo electrónico, se tiene que pensar: ¿Es realmente indispensable mandar dicho correo? Muchas veces se envían correos innecesarios y esto puede ocasionar problemas en la relación laboral y se va perdiendo el  profesionalismo.

2.    Un punto que no se puede olvidar: aunque no sea escrito en papel, el correo electrónico funciona de la misma manera que una carta por lo que debe de contar con: un título, un saludo, un cuerpo y una despedida.

El título

El punto más importante ya que de el depende si nuestro correo se marca como spam o  que el receptor no lo lea por que no lo entendió y por ende no obtendremos respuesta alguna. Para evitar lo anterior el título debe externar el sentido del correo, ser específico, claro y nunca contener las palabras hola o buenos días en él.

El saludo

Aquí se comete un error muy común, se saluda al receptor como si se estuviera hablando con él de manera directa. Aquí la clave es saludar de manera atemporal para mantener un sentido más personalizado, aquí les presentamos diferentes ejemplos para saludar:

  •  Querido Daniel.
  • Estimado Daniel.
  •  Buen día, Daniel.

El cuerpo del correo electrónico

Para redactar el cuerpo del correo, el principal consejo es tener la aptitud de resumir la información que se quiere transmitir, en tres parráfos. Ya que el receptor busca correos cortos y que traten directamente el tema por que se le facilitará leer uno de tantos correos que recibe y podrá darle seguimiento.

La despedida

En muchos casos se dice que la despedida no es necesaria. Pero es todo lo contrario, la despedida muestra profesionalismo de parte del emisor. Claro que debe de tener ciertas caracteríticas, la despedida no puede pasar de un reglón de largo ya que es la parte final del correo, ciertos ejemplos son:

  •  Que tengas un buen día
  • Saludos cordiales
  • Agradeciendo tu atención.

La firma

Actualmente la firma en un correo electrónico ha cambiado. Ahora la firma está formada por diferetes elementos: el nombre del emisor, nombre de la organización, el correo del emisor y todos los contactos con la organización como el teléfono de la oficina, teléfono celular, fax, etc.

Ahora pasaremos a consejos más generales pero tienen la misma importancia que los anteriores. El primero de ellos es la ortografía, es vital revisar antes de enviar el correo que todo este escrito de manera correcta, desde acentos hasta las comas necesarias. Por otro lado, si el correo que se va a mandar es con copia a alguien hay que tener precaución al redactar el correo, por que la conversación puede llegar a la persona incorrecta.

The greeting

Here we all  make a common mistake, the recipient is greeted as if you were talking to him directly. Here the key is to use a timeless salute to maintain a more personalized mood, here we present several examples to greet:

The body of the email

To compose the body of the email, the best advice is to work on your ability to summarize the information that needs  to be transmitted, in three paragraphs, only. The farewell
