5 relojes inteligentes que debes conocer

¿Alguien dijo teléfonos inteligentes ? Por favor, eso es ya del pasado. Ahora todos los reflectores apuntan hacia la siguiente estrella: los relojes inteligentes.

En su momento tener un reloj digital integrado con calculadora era un gran avance tecnológico. El avance de esta generación implica tener un reloj que además de dar la hora, también permita hacer llamadas telefónicas.

Es importante mencionar que no es un proyecto reciente, los creadores de los relojes inteligentes han estado trabajando en ellos desde hace años. Entonces, ¿por qué están teniendo su momento apenas ahora? Porque grandes empresas como Samsung y Apple, escucharon acerca de los proyectos que pequeñas empresas estaban desarrollando en esta área y no se podían quedar atrás. Finalmente, en la primera semana de septiembre de 2013, una de las noticias tecnológicas más sonadas (otra fue el lanzamiento del iPhone 5s y 5c), fue la presentación del reloj inteligente de Samsung: el Galaxy Gear, que saldrá al mercado a finales de septiembre con un precio inicial de 300 dólares.

Con o sin reloj este mensaje va para Apple.

Pero antes de este, ya existían muchos modelos de relojes inteligentes que llegaron a acaparar el mercado. Para conocer el avance y la innovación que se ha tenido en este ámbito, te presentaremos 5 diferentes modelos que han salido al mercado:

The Pebble Smart Watch

Conocido como el antecesor de los relojes inteligentes (aunque hay empresas que le quieren quitar el título). Este fue el primer reloj que englobaba un hardware y software de calidad. Gracias a ello, el Pebble Smart Watch da la opción de conectarte a tu iPhone o Android mediante Bluetooth y así contestar tus llamadas o mensajes de texto.

Los creadores de este reloj no se quedaron conformes con el sólo hecho de crear una reloj inteligente, le dieron seguimiento creando su propio cargador. Pero no es cualquier cargador, como se puede observar en la siguiente imagen, el cargador está formado por un imán que sostiene al reloj mientras se está cargando.

Omate True Smart

Este reloj inteligente es mucho más avanzado que el Pebble Smart Watch. El Omate True Smart es un teléfono con el diseño físico de un reloj, pantalla táctil y todas tus aplicaciones, como Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. Es importante mencionar que los creadores de este reloj crearon un convenio con Google y también puedes gozar de todos sus servicios como: Gmail, Google Music, Google Maps, etc.

Buscando innovar el producto los desarrolladores agregaron una plataforma 3D que permite que el reloj funcione sin la necesidad de estar cerca del teléfono.

¿Mencionamos que además es resistente al agua?

ZeNano

Es el primer reloj inteligente lanzado por la compañía suiza MyKronoz. Dicho reloj ofrece las tareas y servicios más básicos conectándose al teléfono inteligente mediante Bluetooth. Otro servicio que ofrece es la frecuencia FM de radio y controlar la reproducción de música.

Qualcomm Toq

Qualcomm no se quiso quedar atrás y también presentó su reloj inteligente, delimitando su mercado a Estados Unidos con un producto exclusivo de edición limitada.
Este reloj también se conecta al smartphone para contestar llamadas, con una mayor calidad en su pantalla. Este reloj usa tecnología de tinta electrónica de colores llamada Marisol que te permite ver la pantalla claramente a la luz del día y en la noche.

Samsung Galaxy Gear

Volvemos al reloj inteligente que es la novedad de Samsung. Este dispositivo ofrecerá una gran gama de aplicaciones que podrás utilizar como si fuera uno de los teléfonos de la empresa surcoreana. Una de sus características principales: la correa del reloj está llena de tecnología ya que está integrada por la cámara y el micrófono.

Pequeños detalles como el hecho de que puedes colgar una llamada con sólo poner tu mano sobre la pantalla de tu reloj o que la batería dura un día entero, vuelven más atractivo a este smartwatch. Samsung cree tanto en su producto y el éxito que tendrá que ya comenzaron a trabajar en el Galaxy Gear 2.

Con tantas empresas grandes y pequeñas, conocidas y nuevas, compitiendo por ofrecer el mejor reloj inteligente, ¿qué le deparará a esta industria? ¿Será el siguiente gadget indispensable o se convertirá en otra tecnología cíclica como el cine 3D? La aparente ausencia de Apple, ¿será un indicador?

Será cuestión de tiempo.

Did someone say smartphones? Please, that’s already in the past. Now all the reflectors point to the next star: smart watches.

In the past, to have a built-in digital clock with a calculator was a technological breakthrough. The progress of this generation means having a clock that besides telling time, also allows you to make phone calls.

It is important to mention that is not a recent project, the creators of smart watches have been working on them for years. So why are they taking their time just now? Because big companies like Samsung and Apple, heard that small business had projects being developed in this area and could not be left behind. Finally, in the first week of September 2013, one of the most talked about technology news (another was the launch of iPhone 5s and 5c), was the presentation of smart watch from Samsung: the Galaxy Gear, which will be released in late September with a starting price of $ 300.

With or without the watch, this is a message to Apple.

But before this, there were already many models of smart watches that came to corner the market. For the advancement and innovation that has been in this area, we present five different models that have been released:

The Pebble Smart Watch

Known as the predecessor of smart watches (although there are companies that want to take the title). This was the first watch that included hardware and software quality. Thanks to this, the Pebble Smart Watch gives the option to connect to your iPhone or Android via Bluetooth and so you can answer your calls or text messages.

The creators of this clock were satisfied with the mere fact of creating a smart watch, but they decided to innovate it by creating its own charger. But not just any charger, as seen in the following image, the charger is formed by a magnet that holds the clock while it’s charging.

True Omate Smart

This smart watch is much more advanced than Smart Pebble Watch. The True Omate Smart is a phone with the physical design of a watch, touch screen and all your apps, like Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.. It is noteworthy that the creators of this watch created an agreement with Google and you can enjoy all their services like Gmail, Google Music, Google Maps, etc…

Looking for developers to innovate the product added a 3D platform that allows the watch to run without the need to be near the phone.

Did we mention, is water proof?

ZeNano

It is the first smart watch launched by the Swiss company MyKronoz. This watch offers the most basic tasks and services connecting to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Another service offered is the radio FM frequency and control playback of music.

Qualcomm Toq

Qualcomm did not want to be left behind and also introduced its smart watch, limiting their market to the U.S. with an exclusive limited edition.
This watch also connects to your smartphone to answer calls, with higher quality on your screen. This watch uses e-ink technology called Marisol the colors allows you to see the screen clearly in daylight and at night.

Samsung Galaxy Gear

We return to the smart watch that is new to Samsung. This device will offer a wide range of applications that you can use as if it were one of the phones from the South Korean company. One of its main features: the watch strap is full of technology as it is integrated by the camera and microphone.

Small details like the fact that you can hang up a call by simply putting your hand on the screen of your clock or the battery lasts a whole day, made this smartwatch more atracttive. Samsung believes both in their product and the success already has so they started working on the Galaxy Gear 2.

With so many companies large and small, old and new, competing to offer the best smart watch, what holds for this industry? Will the following essential gadget or other technology will become cyclical as 3D movies? The apparent absence of Apple, is it an indicator?

4 cosas que Nextel pudo haber hecho mejor

En mayo de 2012 Sprint anunció que cancelaría el servicio de Nextel que ofrecía llamadas internacionales a través de la tecnología inalámbrica IDEN. La compañía ofreció a sus clientes la opción de cambiar al nuevo servicio PTT (Push To Talk), dándoles como fecha límite para hacerlo el 30 de junio de 2013.

El principal afectado por esta noticia fue el mercado latino en Estados Unidos, ya que el medio para comunicarse con sus familiares en el extranjero quedaría obsoleto.

Del otro lado de la frontera, los clientes de Nextel México, se preguntaron qué sucedería con su servicio de llamadas internacionales. La respuesta fue cambiar a la red de la nueva generación: Evolution.

Comienza el caos….

Al escuchar sobre la nueva red de Nextel México, los clientes de Sprint que residían en territorio mexicano optaron por contratar los servicios de otras compañías telefónicas. Mientras tanto, los clientes de Nextel México estaban en la disyuntiva entre contratar la red Evolution o cambiar de proveedor. Sólo fue cuestión de días para que la crisis empezara…

Acudir a los centros de atención de Nextel significaba pasar un día entero sin una respuesta asegurada. Incluso los usuarios que lograban conseguir una cita se topaban con pared al no permitírseles cancelar su servicio obsoleto sin cargos de mensualidades extra.

La pesadilla para los usuarios avanzó hasta el punto en que la Profeco tuvo que intervenir para canalizar las innumerables quejas contra la empresa.

¿Qué pudo haber hecho Nextel para atender mejor a sus clientes?

Desde nuestro punto de vista, las cosas pudieron haber salido mejor si Nextel hubiera tomado (y todavía puede) las siguientes medidas:

1. Sistema web para hacer citas. Crear un sitio web donde los clientes, ingresaran sus datos como nombre, dirección y número de línea; presentarles la disponibilidad de horario en cada el centro de ayuda y de manera automática calendarizar su cita. Esto hubiera ahorrado dolores de cabeza e inversión de recursos en traslado a muchos. El Sistema de Administración Tributaria es un ejemplo.

2. Promociones. El objetivo de las promociones y los descuentos es elevar las ventas a corto plazo. En medio del clima de incertidumbre, una promoción para convencer a sus clientes de contratar la red Evolution hubiera sido más efectiva que las notificaciones del cambio forzoso.

3. Mayor sensibilidad en medios sociales. Es difícil para el equipo de comunicación de Nextel apagar fuegos generados por la inconformidad con el equipo ofrecido y los servicios producidos. Dada la magnitud de la crisis, a la marca de Nextel le sale más caro actuar como si nada sucediera:

Esto difícilmente comunica la atención inmediata al problema que tienen en sus manos.

4.Cuidar su marca. Lo último que Nextel necesita es lastimar su ya erosionada marca con elementos comunicativos de mala calidad. Y mucho menos usar la imagen de nuestra querida Sofie. Eso es escarbar más hondo en lugar de salir de la fosa a la que han caído.

In May 2012, Sprint announced it would cancel the Nextel service offering international calls through iDEN wireless technology. The company offered its customers the option to switch to the new service PTT (Push To Talk), giving them a deadline to make the change: June 30, 2013.

The most affected by this news was the Latino market in the United States, as the means to communicate with their relatives abroad would become obsolete.

Across the border, Nextel Mexico, wondered what would happen to their international calling service. The answer was to change to the new generation network: Evolution.

Chaos begins ….

Upon hearing of the new network of Nextel Mexico , Sprint customers residing in Mexico chose to hire the services of other carriers . Meanwhile, Nextel Mexico clients were in the dilemma between hiring the Evolution network or switch suppliers. It was only a matter of days and the crisis began …

Going to Nextel call centers meant spending a whole day without a response assured. Even users who managed to get an appointment wall were confronted with not being allowed to cancel their obsolete service without additional monthly charges .

The nightmare for users advanced to the point where PROFECO had to intervene to channel the many complaints against the company.

What could have done to better serve Sprint customers ?

From our point of view , things could have gone better if Nextel would have taken ( and still is) the following measures :

1. Web system for appointments. Create a website where customers can make an appointment from entering their details like name , address and line number ; introduce the availability of time in each center and automatically help scheduling their appointment. This would save headaches and investment of resources in transportation to many. The Tax Administration is one example.

2. Promotions. The purpose of promotions and discounts is to raise short-term sales . In the climate of uncertainty , a promotion to convince clients to hire Evolution network would have been more effective than forced change notifications .

3. Increased sensitivity in social media. It is difficult for Nextel Communications Team to extinguish fires caused by the dissatisfaction with the equipment offered and services produced . Given the magnitude of the crisis, Nextel brand is more expensive to act as if nothing happened :

This hardly communicates immediate attention to the problem they have in their hands .

4.Take care of your brand. The last thing Nextel needs it to hurt your eroded brand and communicative elements of poor quality. And much less use the image of our beloved Sofie . That’s dig deeper instead of out of the pit to which they have fallen .

Qué busca la generación Y en el ambiente laboral

La personalidad de cada persona se define por sucesos que ocurrieron en los primeros años de su vida. El impacto de acontecimientos históricos puede afectar el actuar de generaciones enteras. El segundo cuarto del siglo XX trajo a la generación silenciosa; le siguió la de los baby boomers post guerra mundial; luego vino la generación X y después la generación Y.

La generación Y será la más educada hasta en la historia, y la han definido por eventos como los ataques del 11 de septiembre de 2001 en Nueva York, la Guerra en Irak y los desastres naturales como los tsunamis del Mar Índico en 2004 y de Japón en 2011, o el terremoto de Haití en 2010. Nacidos entre los años de 1980 y 2000, son conocidos mundialmente como Millennials.

Una generación que por un lado tiene a jóvenes que han sobresalido desde temprana edad, siendo líderes en grupos sociales, buscando una entrada al mundo laboral desde su etapa universitaria y una vez que se han graduado mantienen su puesto o se convierten en emprendedores. Por otro lado tiene a los jóvenes que por diversas razones no han logrado independizarse de sus padres, siguen viviendo en casa y alargan sus estudios para no trabajar.

Los jóvenes Millennials buscan que cada una de sus acciones realmente impacte a su empresa, a su sociedad y al mundo. La idiosincrasia de esta generación debe tomarse en cuenta y aprovecharse al máximo, sobre todo por las empresas que los recluten.

¿Qué buscan los Millennials en el trabajo?

1. Que el trabajo no sea una carga.Buscan disfrutar su tiempo dentro de la oficina.

2. Ambiente laboral casual.No quieren trabajar encerrados en una oficina todo el día.

3. Trabajos altruistas.

4. Trabajo en equipo donde cada miembro se sienta como pieza importante.

5. Que cada tarea represente un reto. Los Millennialsbuscan superar estos con la mejor de las actitudes pero durante el proceso y al final del mismo esperan una retroalimentación de su desempeño.

6. Puestos bien estructurados sin perder el sentimiento de amistad.Al momento de aburrirse, piensan en irse.

7. Acceso a tecnología. Son expertos en tecnología y estarán comunicados el 100% de su tiempo, en su teléfono o computadora.

8. Que su opinión sea tomada para la toma de decisiones.No les da miedo ni vergüenza expresar su punto de vista.

9. Sentirse y saberse parte de la empresa.

10. Comunicación entre compañeros dentro y fuera de la oficina. Debe haber retroalimentación diaria, oportunidad de superación, cambio y un poco de diversión.

11. Jefes que sean ejemplos a seguir. Ellos deben enseñarles constantemente, ayudarlos a superarse, son organizados, flexibles y los motivan a seguir adelante.

Puedes pensar, ¿Por qué tengo que adecuar mi empresa para que ellos quieran venir a trabajar en ella? Por el pequeño y simple hecho de que los jóvenes que forman la generación Millennial, son los futuros líderes del mundo.

Born between the years of 1980 and 2000, they are known worldwide as Millennials.

A generation that has a young side which has excelled at an early age, being leaders in social groups, seeking an entry into the workplace when they are in college and once they have graduated they maintain their position or become entrepreneurs. On the other hand you have young people who for various reasons have not achieved independence from their parents, still living at home and extend their studies so they don’t have to work.

Young Millennials seek that each of their actions really impact your company, the community and the world. The idiosyncrasy of this generation must be taken into account and fully exploited, especially by companies that want to recruit them.

What are the Millennials looking for at work?

1. That work is not a burden .They want to enjoy their time in office.

2.. The work Environment is casual. They don’t want to work in an office all day.

3. Altruistic work.

4. Working as a team where each member feel important piece.

5. That each task represents a challenge. The Millennials to overcome these with the best of attitudes but during the process and at the end of it they expect feedback on their performance.

6. Jobs well structured without losing the feeling of friendship. When they get bored, they immediately want to leave.

7. Access to technology. They are experts in technology and will be connected 100% of their time, on their phone or computer.

8. They want their opinion be taken in consideration for all the decisions making process . They are not afraid or ashamed to express their views.

9. Feeling and knowing they are part of the company.

10. Communication between peers within and outside the office. They want to have daily feedback, opportunity for improvement, change and a little fun.

11. They want managers that are constantly teaching them. They want managers that are examples of life for them, help them overcome challenges, are organized, flexible and keep them motivated to move foward.

You may think, why do I have to make my company attractive so they want to come to work with me? For the small and simple fact that young people who make up the Millennial generation, are the future leaders of the world.

Secretos que la basura puede revelar

Ecolohosting empezó esta semana con el pie derecho. Aprovechando el cambio de mes, tuvimos cambio de oficina. Durante la mudanza, nos percatamos de un punto muy importante, los pocos documentos físicos que teníamos en la oficina contenían información de nuestros clientes y nosotros pensábamos en deshacernos de ellos, sin saber la información que contenían.

¿Se imaginan que hubiera sucedido si los tiramos a la basura y acaban en manos de las personas incorrectas?

La verdad es que nosotros no queremos ni pensar en eso, pero la realidad es que esto le sucede a muchas empresas u organizaciones. (En el caso de España, para poner un ejemplo alrededor del 72% de las empresas tiran a la basura información confidencial). La buena noticia es que existen medidas de seguridad para proteger la información que se tiene de nuestros clientes tanto física como electrónicamente.

Más adelante presentaremos diferentes recomendaciones para proteger sus documentos, algunas podrán aplicarse para los dos tipos pero otras irán dirigidas a un sólo tipo de documento ya sea físico o electrónico. Al estarlos archivando no se pueden olvidar de algunas características muy importantes:

•   Todo documento tiene un propósito y cumple una función específica.
•   Todos los documentos tienen información la cual es confidencial ya sean números de cuentas bancarias, contraseñas de páginas oficiales o información personal del cliente (teléfonos, dirección, etc.)
•   Todos los documentos tienen autor, dando a entender que si ustedes son los receptores el emisor tiene una copia de dicho documento.
•   Todos los documentos físicos y electrónicos tienen fecha de creación.
•   Por último, todos los documentos son válidos a pesar de su fecha de creación, si está archivado es por una razón.

Ahora la cuestión es: ¿Qué podemos hacer para que los documentos no acaben en contenedores de basura?

1.   El primer paso siempre será crear una carpeta para cada uno de los clientes sean personas físicas o morales. Dicha carpeta llevará el nombre del cliente u organización, en el caso de la carpeta física se pondrá una pequeña descripción.
2.   Para las carpetas físicas, deberá existir un archivero en donde se ordenarán alfabéticamente. Es recomendable que tenga indicado donde comienza una letra y donde termina la otra, para facilitar su uso.
3.   Los documentos que van dentro de dichas carpetas estarán organizados cronológicamente. Una recomendación extra es que pueden dividir el contenido de la carpeta en años y después en meses, facilitando así el uso de los documentos.

Una vez que todos los documentos están archivados de manera ordenada entran en acción las medidas de seguridad. En el caso de las carpetas físicas:

•   Se asegura que toda la información archivada es necesaria y en caso de no serla se deshace de ella, de manera correcta.
•   Las carpetas están ubicadas en un área separada y segura.
•   El número de personas con acceso a este archivero será limitado.
•   El personal con acceso al archivero debe de tener conocimiento del número de carpetas existentes, así como poder identificar de que cliente son.
•   En caso de que ocurra una violación de seguridad, tener un plan de acción a seguir.

En el caso de las carpetas electrónicas, se recomienda lo siguiente:

•   Tener un buen antivirus, el cuál protegerá a la información y al ordenador que la contenga de cualquier ataque.
•   No tener dicha información es una tableta o computador portátil.
•   Hacer uso de herramientas que generen carpetas con acceso restringido con contraseña.
•   Hacer uso de contraseñas complejas, utilizando claves alfanuméricas, alternar mayúsculas y minúsculas y emplear signos.

Recuerden que hay situaciones en las que no es malo sobre proteger nuestras posesiones. En este caso es preferible tener seguridad extra a que nuestra basura hable sobre nosotros o peor aún, sobre nuestros clientes.

Here at Ecolohosting we began this week on the right foot, since it’s a new month we got a new office. During the move, we noticed a very important point, the few physical documents in the office contained information from our clients and we were thinking we should get rid of them, not knowing the information they contained.

Can you imagine what would have happened if we threw them away and they ended up in the hands of the wrong people?

The truth is that we do not want to think about it, but the reality is that this happens to many companies or organizations. (In the case of Spain, for example about 72% of their companies throw away confidential information). The good news is that there are safeguards to protect the information we have from our customers both physically and electronically.

Later on, we will present various recommendations to protect your documents, some may apply for both types but others will be directed to a single type of document whether physical or electronic. When filing your documents you can not forget some important features:

• Every document has a purpose and a specific function.
• All documents contain information which is confidential either bank account numbers, passwords for the official website or personal information of the client (phone, address, etc..)
• All documents have an author, meaning that if you are the receiver, the sender has a copy of that document.
• All physical and electronic documents have a creation date.
• Finally, all documents are valid despite its date of creation,you have them for a reason.

Now the question is: What can we do to make sure the documents don’t end up in the garbage?

1. The first step is always to create a folder for each of the clients as individuals or as corporations. This folder will be named after the client or organization, in the case of the physical folder it will have a short description.
2. For physical folders, there should be a file cabinet where they are sorted alphabetically. It is recommended that you indicate where a letter starts and where the other ends, for a better use.
3. The documents that go into these folders are organized chronologically. An additional recommendation is that you can divide the contents of the folder in years and then months, there by facilitating the use of the documents.

Once all documents are stored in an orderly manner it’s time for the security measures. In the case of physical folders:

• Make sure that all archived information is needed and if not get rid of it, in the right way.
• The folders are located in a separate and secure area.
• The number of people with access to the file cabinet will be limited.
• Staff with access to the cabinet must have knowledge of the number of existing folders.
• In the event of a security violation, have a plan of action to follow.

In the case of electronic files, we recommend the following:

• Having a good antivirus, to protect computer information from an attack.
• Not having this information is a tablet or laptop.
• Make use of tools that generate folders with password-restricted access.
• Make use of complex passwords, using alphanumeric codes, change case and use signs.

Los blogs se han convertido en una herramienta indispensable para compartir contenido alcanzando a un público global. Con el avance de la tecnología, la facilidad con la que se editan los blogs ha superado sus propios límites y ahora es posible crear y editar todo un sitio web como si fuera un blog. ¿Cómo? Gracias a WordPress.

WordPress es nuestro mejor amigo en Ecolohosting ya que nos permite hacer cambios en nuestra información o agregar algún dato que sea necesario para brindar un mejor servicio.

¿Qué es WordPress? Es una avanzada plataforma semántica de publicación personal, enfocada a la creación de blogs. Pero mejor dejemos el lado técnico de la definición y vamos a enfocarnos en lo más sencillo.

Se le denomina plataforma “avanzada” ya que proporciona una serie de funciones de calidad, que otras plataformas no ofrecen, como múltiples autores y múltiples blogs, dichas funciones se presentan en diferentes versiones de WordPress y permite que uno o más usuarios controlen todos los espacios de una página al mismo tiempo.

Como hemos compartido en este artículo, se recomienda ampliamente actualizar las herramientas que usamos en la web como medida de seguridad. WordPress sufrió recientemente un ataque de seguridad en el área de los administradores de las páginas. Rastrea objetos perdidos desde tu smartphone

Cuando Batman desea seguir el rastro de alguien, lo único que tiene que hacer es lanzarle un pequeño dispositivo autoadherible que emite una señal rastreable. Así el enmascarado puede monitorear la ubicación del rastreador desde su batPad, batPhone 5 o batPod Touch mientas se come un hot dog.

Hyundai reemplazará las llaves del auto por tu smartphone

Todos vemos venir el tiempo en que nuestro teléfono móvil reemplace los teléfonos de casa y oficina, tarjeta de crédito, credenciales, licencia de manejo, y llaves de nuestro automóvil. Hyundai está trabajando en esta última parte.

Algunos japoneses por su parte están trabajando en reemplazar a las novias.

La empresa automotriz coreana Hyundai ha implementado en algunos de sus autos tecnología NFC (Near Field Communication), o de comunicación inalámbrica de corto alcance, que te permitirá abrir las puertas, encender el motor y conectarte con su pantalla touch desde tu móvil.

El automovilista podrá deslizar su teléfono sobre un chip NFC integrado para abrir el auto y una vez adentro colocarlo sobre la consola central, con lo cual encendería el motor. ¿Y si la batería del teléfono está descargándose? Una placa de carga inductiva se asegurará de que no tenga que conectarse.

Hyundai incluso ha pensado en cada usuario de un mismo automóvil y el sistema puede reconocer diferentes smartphones, con lo cual personaliza los ajustes de asiento y espejo según el automovilista. Además se importan contactos, destinos de navegación, aplicaciones y audio del teléfono al vehículo.

Hyundai y Broadcom planean introducir esta tecnología al mercado en su próxima generación de productos y tenerlos listos para 2015.

We can all picture it: our mobile phone will replace our home and office land lines, credit card, driver’s license, and car keys. Hyundai is working on just that.

Elsewhere, some Japanese are working on replacing our girlfriend.

Korean automaker Hyundai has embedded in some of their cars NFC (Near Field Communication) technology that will let you open your car, start the engine and connect with its touchscreen from your smartphone.

The car driver will be able to swipe their phone over the embedded NFC chip to open the car and once inside place it on the central console to start the engine. What if the phone battery is running low? An inductive charging plate will make sure that it doesn’t even need to plug in.

Hyundai even has in mind each user who could drive the same car, and the system can recognize different smartphones to set customized seat and rear-view mirror settings. Contacts, navigation destinations, apps and streaming audio can also be imported from the mobile device to the car.

Hyundai and Broadcom plan to introduce this technology to the market on their next generation of products and have them ready by 2015.
